This Privacy Policy explains how Singing Coach AI ("Singing Coach AI," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our mobile apps, web apps, website(s), and in-browser demo (collectively, the "Services"). We are committed to privacy by design, do not sell your personal information, and do not serve third-party ads.

3. Notice at Collection (CPRA) — Categories, Purposes, Retention, Sharing
We collect the categories of personal information listed below for the purposes described, retain them for the indicated periods, and disclose them only to the types of recipients shown. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Tracking: We do not use data for cross-app tracking or third-party targeted advertising.
4. Information We Collect (Detail)
- A. Account & Authentication — Name, email, password (hashed), profile photo (optional); Sign in with Apple/Google returns an authentication token and account email/name; we do not receive your third-party credentials.
- B. Profile & Preferences — Genres, vocal attributes (range, fach, tessitura), practice goals and settings.
- C. Content You Provide — Audio recordings/uploads; chat messages/notes; lesson feedback, ratings, survey responses.
- D. Derived/Analytical Data — Pitch tracking, rhythm grid, vibrato rate/depth, breath support patterns, vowel resonance, passaggio mapping, stylistic markers, voice profile (comfortable range, tessitura, agility, tone color), technique trends, song/key/artist recommendations.
- E. Device, App & Usage Data — Device type, OS/app version, language, time zone, coarse location (IP at city/region level), event and diagnostic data, performance metrics, crash logs, cookies/unique IDs on web to remember preferences and measure aggregate usage.
- F. Purchases & Subscriptions — Plan type, receipts/tokens, subscription status, timestamps; payments are processed by Apple App Store/Google Play; we do not store full payment card numbers.
- G. Support & Communications — Messages you send to support; metadata to process requests; communication preferences (email, push).
- H. In-Browser Demo — By default, mic audio is processed locally in your browser and not uploaded. If you choose to save results to your account, we upload the relevant metrics and any audio you choose to save.
Sensitive data note: Voice recordings can be considered sensitive in some jurisdictions. We process your audio solely to provide coaching, analysis, and recommendations. We do not use your voice to uniquely identify you.
5. Why We Use Information (Purposes & Legal Bases)
Purposes:
- Provide and operate the Services (vocal analysis, feedback, lesson paths, recommendations)
- Create and maintain your evolving voice profile and practice history
- Enable chat interactions with your AI coach
- Process subscriptions, verify purchases, and manage access
- Communicate about account updates, training tips, product changes, and service-related notices
- Maintain safety, security, fraud prevention, and Service integrity
- Debug, measure performance, fix bugs, and improve usability/features
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
Legal bases (EEA/UK and similar jurisdictions):
- Contract — To provide the Services you request
- Legitimate interests — To secure, maintain, and improve the Services; prevent fraud; understand aggregate usage
- Consent — For optional features (e.g., marketing communications; model-improvement opt-ins)
- Legal obligations — To comply with laws and regulatory requirements
Model improvement (opt-in): We may ask you to opt in to allow us to use de-identified audio and/or transcripts to train and improve our models. This is optional and can be revoked at any time in settings or by contacting us.
No ads, no sale/share: We do not serve third-party ads and we do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (as defined under CPRA and similar laws).
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only as follows:
- Service providers (processors): Cloud hosting, storage, content delivery, analytics, crash reporting, email/push notifications, and AI inference/processing providers acting on our instructions and bound by contracts.
- Authentication & platform providers: Apple and Google for sign-in and app store purchases.
- Payment platforms: App Store and Google Play for subscription management and receipts.
- Team administrators (Teams plans only): Practice summaries and relevant content for the team environment as configured by the admin.
- Legal/compliance: Where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to continuing protections.
We do not allow providers to use your data for their own independent purposes outside the Services.
7. Data Retention
- Account data: Life of account, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period (generally within 90 days) after account deletion, except where retention is required by law or for security/fraud prevention.
- Audio & chat content: Retained until you delete them or delete your account. If you delete a recording, we remove it from active systems promptly and from backups within ~30 days.
- Usage/diagnostic logs & analytics: Up to 24 months.
- Purchase records & legal records: As required by law (typically up to 7 years).
- In-browser demo: Audio processed locally; not uploaded unless you choose to save results to your account.
8. Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Technologies
- Web: We use essential cookies for functionality and optional first-party/processor analytics to understand aggregate usage. No third-party advertising cookies. Where applicable, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for web interactions.
- Mobile apps: We may use device identifiers and analytics/crash SDKs to measure performance and reliability.
- Controls: Manage cookies in your browser; limit ad tracking/IDs in device settings.
9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Your controls:
- In-app: View, download, and delete recordings, chat threads, and your account.
- Opt-in/out: Change marketing consent and model-improvement permissions at any time.
- Permissions: Control microphone and notification access in device settings.
Your rights (depending on your location):
Access; rectification; deletion; portability; restriction/objection; consent withdrawal.
How to exercise:
Use in-app tools where available, or email hello@singingcoach.ai. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within legally required timeframes (e.g., 30–45 days).
Appeals (U.S. state laws where applicable): If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email; if unresolved, you may contact your state attorney general.
California (CPRA) specifics:
- No sale/share: We do not sell or share personal information as defined by CPRA.
- Sensitive personal information: We do not use/disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by CPRA (e.g., providing the Services).
- Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA/UK: You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We are committed to working with you to resolve concerns.
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
10. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit and at rest; access controls; least-privilege permissions; logging and monitoring; vulnerability management; and staff training. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Data Transfers
We may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) to protect personal data during cross-border transfers.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 16 (and not permitted for children under 13 in the U.S.). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact hello@singingcoach.ai and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Data Deletion Requests
To request deletion of your data or your account:
- Use in-app deletion tools, or
- Email hello@singingcoach.ai with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
We will verify your identity and process your request consistent with applicable laws. Certain information may be retained as required by law, to prevent fraud, or to resolve disputes.

We may send you:
- Service/transactional messages (e.g., feature changes, security alerts)
- Marketing messages with your consent (you can unsubscribe in settings or via unsubscribe links)
15. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Policy does not apply to those third parties; review their privacy policies.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post updates here and adjust the Last Updated date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice (e.g., in-app or by email) as required.

18. App Store/Play Store Disclosures and Summaries
The summaries below are provided to assist with Apple’s App Privacy and Google Play’s Data Safety disclosures. Actual disclosures in the stores must match your current build and SDK configuration.

Tracking: We do not use your data for tracking you across apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Optional data processing: Model improvement uses de-identified audio/transcripts only if you opt in (off by default; revocable).
App permissions (typical): Microphone (recording/coaching); Notifications (alerts/tips); Network (online features); Photos/Files (optional import/upload). Denying a permission may limit related features.
Important: Keep your store disclosures up-to-date if data flows or SDKs change (e.g., analytics, crash reporting, A/B testing, remote config).
